Reflect on Remembrance Day with Frog

We’ve created a new online resource to help students explore the meaning of Remembrance Day.

Poppy

With most of those who lived through the wars no longer with us and many families today without a direct connection to that time, it can feel harder for young people to relate to remembrance. This resource is to help bridge that gap by offering simple, thoughtful ways for students to understand why we still pause to remember.

Site-Rememberance

The site introduces why we remember, the tradition of the two-minute silence and the symbolism of the poppy, alongside the stories of ordinary individuals; men, women and young people - who all played their part in times of conflict. Each page ends with a reflective question designed to encourage thought and discussion, rather than provide ready-made answers.

Students can also discover “Did you know?” facts, explore links to external resources, and with contributor rights, submit their own reflections too.

How will the resource help students?

This resource offers a meaningful way for students to connect with remembrance, making it both educational and personal. We hope it will help them appreciate not only the sacrifices of the past but also the importance of reflection for the future.
