Give your Year 6 transitioners a jump start with Frog
Here’s a gem you may not be aware of, hidden at the bottom of Frog Templates is the Year 7 Transition portal. A site packed with ideas to help introduce your secondary school to Year 6 students.
There are places for your current year 7s to explain (in their own words) the school day, uniform and rules. You can add an interactive map using the Hotspot widget. You can add a quiz, provide an early reading assignment and use the site to get children excited about joining “big school”.
Provided you have some responsible Years 7s, why not give them control over the forum so that your incoming pupils can ask questions of their peers.
You can create guest accounts for each primary school or for each student. Our service desk can help with this.
The Transition portal has been available for some time in Frog, we built it while working with several schools. It is one of those tools you may have known was there, but have forgotten about it. A bit like the Revision and Options Portals, or the Whole Class Feedback space.
