5 ways to know if your student dashboard is engaging

A dashboard is the first thing your students see when they log in, but how often do you verify your pupils are using it?

Here are 5 things you can check off to ensure that your Frog is inviting to 5-18 year-olds:

The last notice posted was recent

The noticeboard widget makes it easy for any teacher to post school news. If notices aren’t fresh, don’t be surprised when they are ignored.

There is a gallery

Ideally every event in school should be celebrated with photos and these should be shared via Site Timeline or Image Carousel widgets.

There are current polls

Polls are such a quick way to get engagement. Ask 2 or 3 questions each week, ranging from pop culture opinions to favourite assemblies. Students will gravitate to them and naturally begin to move off to other areas.

A book of the week

Check with your school librarian and set up a book club. Even better if you can get some trusted students to run this section. Using the Frog Page widget, you can embed a page from another site and allow them to edit that, without having to give them permissions to edit the main dashboard.

Your student council has a say on what goes on the pages

You don’t need to come up with all the ideas, give your students a voice and let them help you make your school’s Frog engaging!

With summer just around the corner, perhaps this is a good time to revise your dashboards ready for the new academic year!

If you need any support in in creating or re-arranging your student dashboard, whether it’s just a tidy up, or a bespoke theme to help fit better with your schools branding, let us know, we’d love to help...
