A new year and a new term always bring a sense of momentum; fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils and a buzz of energy as schools get back into full swing. It’s a time for setting direction and building on everything that’s already working well.
At Frog, we love seeing schools build on their existing systems, discovering new ways to connect, engage and make learning visible and meaningful for everyone in their community.

Take The Winston Churchill School, who have grown their use of Frog for their Purple Week - a dedicated focus where students can identify which areas of the curriculum they need to strengthen. The information is shared with both students and parents, accompanied by explanatory videos and guidance on how to access and use the resources. This approach allows students to actively engage with their own progress, choosing where to focus their efforts and track their improvement, while keeping parents informed and involved. It’s a clear example of technology supporting learning in a way that is visible, purposeful, and empowering for everyone involved.

At Sedgefield Community College, digital communication and visibility are part of every term. The school uses their Frog dashboards to provide a clear overview of homework and revision for each year group, helping students and parents stay informed and involved. It’s a simple but powerful approach that keeps learning conversations open and consistent.

And at Finton House, they have used the ePortfolio option for ECTs and mentors to record progress, targets, evidence and observations. The ePortfolio allows all stakeholders, including those external to the school, to access individual records. External auditing has been made possible through the ‘Other Profile’ feature, providing transparency and allowing for streamlined collaboration.
What these schools demonstrate is the power of continuous improvement; using what already works and making it even more effective.
