Jesmond Park Academy is committed to enhancing their students' educational experiences through technology, and the school’s plan, with Frog as its primary learning platform, is now in full swing with the school the largest global school user of the platform.
We recently spoke to Richard Faraday, Deputy Principal for Teaching and Learning, who confirmed the impact Frog has had. In terms of how it has been successfully integrated he firmly believes...
“We couldn’t do it quicker, cheaper, or easier with anything else.”
The Frog VLE is now firmly embedded and central to supporting learning in the school. It is a platform many staff are now very familiar with; this familiarity has proven invaluable, enabling teachers and administrators to focus more on teaching and student engagement rather than with technical troubleshooting that the introduction of new systems can inevitably bring.
The school’s efforts to bridge communication between parents and staff have also taken a significant step forward. With the recent launch of their version of Frog’s parent portal, parents and carers now have direct access to essential school updates and information. The pre-built site on Frog, which can be adapted to your school’s needs, is expected to become the primary interface for parent communication as it gains traction.
The Future!
Looking ahead, Jesmond Park are currently exploring new ways to drive further engagement with the platform and building a Virtual Learning Environment in it’s truest sense and supporting more learner independence. An enrichment portal built within Frog is set to launch this year, providing students and parents with access to additional information on extracurricular clubs and activities. This aims to further enhance student and parent involvement, without the need to print or distribute any materials, streamlining communication and promoting sustainability.
Richard credits much of this success to his colleague Andy Holburn, whose contributions were key to helping the school reach its current level of achievement with Frog.
