It’s been a busy month for the Frog Development Team as we put the finishing touches to the Austen release. The release is currently in testing and will be with our Frog Lab schools soon who will be putting it through its paces. If testing goes well, we expect the Austen release to be deployed week commencing 19 June. We’ll keep you updated as this progresses. Watch your inbox for full details of what’s included in the release and when it will be with you.
I’m excited to share with you this month a more detailed look at a couple of the widgets we’ve been working on that were requested and voted for by you from the Ideas Portal.
The Assignment Monitor has a new graphical interface which lets you easily see what assignments have been set by teacher, class, subject or department for a given time frame meaning you no longer need to download a spreadsheet to see this data. The short video below provides an overview of the Assignment Monitor and how it could be used in school to monitor homework.

The Attainment Table Widget in FrogLearn has been re-designed for parents to better handle and display attainment information.
As a developer, I’m particularly excited about the launch of FrogCode which will be available in the Austen Release.
In case you don’t know, FrogCode is an in-Frog code editor that you can use to create and publish your own widgets and applications. It is a similar experience to the HTML widget, you can write in HTML, Javascript, jQuery and CSS, but the results are far more impressive!
We’ve already seen some brilliant examples of what schools can do with this from the FrogCode workshop, the schools who have been testing it for us and our Sales & Marketing Director who couldn’t wait to have a go!
These have included; a new calendar widget, a Google Search Box widget, a Mark as Read widget and an Ask for Help Widget – all of which will be available for you to download and install on to your Frog platform from the FrogStore later this year.
Once the Austen release is live, you will need to contact the Frog Support Desk who will be able to enable FrogCode on your platform.
You can find out more about FrogCode at the Frog Conference later this month where we will be delivering a workshop showcasing what schools have already built.
If you want to get more hands-on you can attend our next FrogCode Workshop and have a go at building your own widget. This is taking place on 12th July at the Judd School in Tonbridge, Kent.
